This laminate powder is mixed in the ratio 4 parts Crealin and 1 part water and is then ready to use, after a short pre-swelling time of 2-3 minutes. It is suitable for the creation of landscape surfaces in modeling structures. The thixotrope (viscous) and creamy paste is applied with a palette knife or a putty knife. The material is dimensionally stable so that even sharp edged shapes can be formed.
Crealin cures completely within 65-75 minutes, without shrinking. It is further of advantage, that objects like small trees, fences etc., can be worked in the laminate compound; they will stick firmly in. Because the material is so easy to form and to model, it is also well suited for the making of collages. It also does bond very well with the Artex Modelling Tissues and is therefore preferred for the enhancement of laminated decoration objects (inflated swimming animals, bandaged with the modelling strips). All kinds of surface structures can be perfectly designed, e.g. scales, fur, feathering etc.) Crealin adheres on almost every subsurface, e.g. board, wood, metal, stone, plaster, gypsum, carton, polystyrene, solidified textile etc. Therefore this material is also used for the making of theatre sceneries. As the material has low adhesion properties and does not contain any dissolvers.
It can also bond with polystyrene or textile shapes (treated previoulsy with Textile Impregnating Hardener - Part No: AR77868); the objects need to be primed before with an adhesoin agent, e.g. Glass and Plastic Undercoating (Part No: AR71757) in a thin layer.
