Scale: 1:66 Boston Light is the first lighthouse to be built in what today is the United States and its light was lit for the first time in 1716. It was financed by a penny-a-ton tax on ships. At the start of the American Revolution, American troops removed the lamps from the lanterns and burned the tower to prevent the British from using it. It was blown up by the British as they left Boston. At the end of the war, the Massachusetts legislative body passed a budget for the reconstruction of the lighthouse on the island. Today a United States Coast Guard crew still performs the traditional keepers duties in it. Finished dimensions: 450mm x 130mm. Kit contains: bulb, switch, wire, step by step photos of assembly process, wood, paint & etched brass.
