From the " Work- The Illustrated Weekly Journal For Mechanics" 1897. Various scales.
This journal published articles on how to make an astonishing variety of items.
Dimensioned plans were included as well as instructions.
For the person who wants to make full size vehicles I must point out that it is assumed that axles, springs etc will be purchased, and only the body contruction is described.
I have selected a number of plans including - Norfolk Cart,- Governess Cart, - Hawkers Cart, - Market Cart and Tumbril to make up this set. Learn More

Plan - Lancashire Coal Cart 1/10th Scale

As no horse could be expected to hold back a load of 2 tons on a hill, the cart has nave band brakes and the plan shows the mechanism in clear detail.
Removable extension boards are also shown, to allow for bulky loads of coke. Learn More
