Leonardo da Vinci was fascinated by robots and built them to entertain. These drawmatons are based on history’s first robot - the Robot Knight that could perform many simple functions. By rotating a handle the motion created by the cams on the programmed ‘petals’ caused the ‘arm’ to create single line drawings.
