The Curricle was driven with two horses abreast, an arrangement known as a curricle team.
These dashing vehicles were popular in the early 1800's, and enjoyed a revival among the driving enthusiasts in the 1890's.
This was published in1895, but recalls the earlier style with a George IV pattern body, rumble seat for the groom and cabriolet springs.
