The craft of Decoupage is an 18th century artform and involves the use of paper cut-outs to decorate surfaces such as boxes, trays etc.
The french produced 'Vue d'Optique pictures, which were made by assembling scenes inside boxes, and from this evolved the technique of 3D pictures which we know today.
Using this fascinating technique, it is possible to create realistic scenes using a series of identical prints which are cut, shaped and glued or 'layered' with silicone to produce a dimensional picture in 3D.
A final varnishing will give the appearance of a ceramic plaque.
Follow the simple guidelines to create a beautiful picture.
