H.M.S Bounty, a merchant ship fitted out as a frigate, will always be remembered for the mutiny organised by Fletcher Christian in 1789 during a voyage to Tahiti. Christina and the other mutineers forced Captian Bligh to abandon ship in an open longboat together with 18 crew memebers who were loyal to him and a few provisions. After a hazardouis voyage of nearlyn 4000 miles they managed to reach the island of timor.
