The movement is a precision, time proven German design, manufactured by Franz Hermle and Sons, the world's largest producer of high-quality movements. The three gear train mechanism consists of fine steel pinions and solid brass wheels (gears) which run within heavy brass movement plates. Self adjusting strike mechanism produces beautiful Westminster chimes on tuned steel rods. Chimes can be silenced by a convenient lever that extends through the dial face.
